The Buffalo (N.Y.) Philharmonic Orchestra has appointed ALISON BOLTON director of orchestra and hall operations. Her previous experience includes posts as manager of audience engagement, festivals, and artistic projects at the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and as general manager of the Albany (N.Y.) Symphony Orchestra, where she worked with ASO Music Director David Alan Miller to create composer residencies. Bolton has also served on the staffs of the Tucson (Ariz.) and Alabama symphony orchestras, and began her career as box office manager at California’s Music Academy of the West. She holds a master’s degree in viola performance from the University of Akron and a bachelor’s in viola performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
