The Buffalo (N.Y.) Philharmonic Orchestra has announced a three-year extension of STEFAN SANDERS’s contract, and his promotion from associate conductor to resident conductor. A former member of the BPO’s trombone section, Sanders studied at the Juilliard School, the University of Texas at Austin, and the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen Music Festival and School. He was one of five conductors selected for the League of American Orchestras’ 2016 Bruno Walter National Conductor Preview, held last spring with the Nashville Symphony.
