Two musician appointments, effective with the 2016-17 season, have been announced by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra: CONRAD JONES, principal trumpet and RILEY J. GIAMPAOLO, bass trombone.

Conrad Jones was formerly principal trumpet in the Tucson (Ariz.) Symphony Orchestra, and before winning that post in 2013 he served as third trumpet in the TSO. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music and co-founder of the Cleveland-based Kyodai Brass Quintet, Jones has made numerous appearances with orchestras across the country. He was guest principal trumpet with the Indianapolis Symphony on three occasions prior to being named principal trumpet.

Riley Giampaolo is an undergraduate at Boston’s New England Conservatory, where he expects to earn his bachelor’s degree in 2018. He played bass trombone in Germany’s Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and was a member of Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America during its inaugural year, 2013.
