“The group some call ‘The World’s Greatest Party Band’ will play a show out of the ordinary with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra next year,” writes Evan Anstey on Monday (10/10) at WIVB News 4 (Buffalo, N.Y.). “The B-52s have sold more than 20 million albums over their 36-year career. On June 7, the band known for hits like ‘Love Shack’ and ‘Rock Lobster’ will perform with the BPO. This isn’t the group’s first venture into a symphonic collaboration, as the B-52s performed with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra in 2015.” A press release from the Buffalo Philharmonic notes that the B-52s’ Hollywood Bowl Orchestra 2015 performance “inspired them to develop a symphony show, which they debuted at the Nashville Symphony earlier this year, and then took it to Tanglewood with the Boston Pops.”
