JOHANNA GRUSKIN has been named principal flute in the Knoxville (Tenn.) Symphony Orchestra. A graduate of Eastman School of Music in Rochester, N.Y., with a master’s degree from Boston’s New England Conservatory, she was principal flutist in the Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra (Los Angeles) and has performed with the San Antonio Symphony, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and New World Symphony. Also announced by the Knoxville Symphony were two one-year appointments in the violin section: ELISE BLAKE and ZOFIA GLASHAUSER.
