New York’s Manhattan School of Music has named Detroit Symphony Orchestra Music Director LEONARD SLATKIN to the new and ongoing post of Distinguished Visiting Artist in Conducting and Orchestral Studies. Slatkin’s new role coincides with the launch of the annual Conductors’ Project, a partnership of the Detroit Symphony and Manhattan School of Music that will see two recent MSM conducting graduates chosen as conducting fellows to work with Slatkin, the MSM Symphony Orchestra, and the DSO in a two-week educational exchange. The project debuts October 24-28 at MSM and moves to Detroit and the DSO from January 10-15, 2017.
