To encourage people to vote on Tuesday, November 8, the Tucson Symphony Orchestra is offering a “Rach the Vote” special ticket discount. On Election Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., voters who come to the Tucson Symphony box office wearing an “I Voted” sticker are eligible for a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer, good for up to ten tickets. The offer is also extended to voters who voted early or by mail. Each voter will also receive a cookie. The idea for “Rach the Vote” started when Ticketing Services Specialist Rachel Miranda Wedig suggested putting a sign outside the polling place across the street from the TSO office with the offer of a discounted ticket and a cookie. The sign shows composer Sergei Rachmaninoff wearing an “I voted” sticker.
