At the New York Youth Symphony, CHRISTOPHER THEOFANIDIS has been named chair of the Orchestra and Chamber Music Advisory Committee for First Music, which annually commissions works from seven emerging American composers for NYYS’s orchestra, jazz band, and chamber ensemble programs. Theofanidis’s compositions have been performed by many of the leading U.S. orchestras as well as abroad. Currently a professor at Yale University, he holds degrees from Yale, Eastman School of Music, and the University of Houston.
