Ohio’s Canton Symphony Orchestra will present four bilingual (Spanish/English) books this season as part of its SymphonyLand trio series for children, combining storytelling and music. The first event will take place on January 11 at Zimmermann Symphony Center in Canton with a string trio performing and a reading of Bear at Home (Oso en Casa), with text by Stella Blackstone and illustrations by Debbie Harter. All storytelling events will feature books from the same Blackstone/Harter series, featuring the child-friendly character Bear. Books will be read in English during the performances with additional Spanish vocabulary to coincide with the story. February performances will feature a woodwind trio, with a brass trio performing in March, and a full orchestra concert in May at a Kinder Concert in May. All SymphonyLand and Kinder Concert programs are free and open to the public as well as school groups.
