The Toledo Symphony in Ohio has hired KEN WETSTEIN as vice president for development, effective Dec. 1. Wetstein has a 25-year background in higher education and non-profit management. His most recent post was as vice president of advancement for Defiance College, where he improved fundraising, secured a rise in alumni donations, acquired new donors and recovered lapsed ones, and garnered more than $1 million in planned-gift commitments. A native of the St. Louis area, Wetstein has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s of education in counseling from Eastern Illinois University and a Ph.D. in higher education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
