“All of Artis—Naples’ board members pledged to participate in the organization’s capital campaign and committed $40 million to bolster the group’s endowment fund and pay for future improvements and additions to its campus,” reports Patrick Riley in Monday’s (12/12) Naples Daily News (Florida). Artis—Naples is the umbrella organization for the Naples Philharmonic and the Baker Museum. “ ‘We are obviously quite grateful that we are already at this point,’ Artis—Naples CEO and President Kathleen van Bergen said in reference to the campaign, which officially launched in January.… The money will be used to increase the organization’s endowment to more than $100 million, expand multidisciplinary programming, further its educational initiatives, explore new ways to showcase artists, grow the permanent collection for The Baker Museum and revamp its cultural campus. Part of the funds will be used to hire a firm to help draw up a ‘dramatically new master plan’ for the 8.5-acre Kimberly K. Querrey and Louis A. Simpson Cultural Campus, which currently includes two performance halls, The Baker Museum,” and education and administrative buildings.
