Chicago’s Grant Park Music Festival has announced the appointment of STEPHEN R. SMITH as board chair, effective January 1, 2017. He has been vice president/general counsel at Amsted Industries Inc. since 2007. Smith served earlier as general counsel and president of North American operations for the UK-based engineering company GKN, and as vice president and general counsel of the Interlake Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College in Illinois and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.
