The DePauw School of Music in Greencastle, Indiana has announced that it will allocate $10 million in scholarships for undergraduate music students over the next five years through a combination of need-based and merit-based scholarships. The scholarship monies were raised during an ongoing fundraising campaign by the School of Music, which has raised $23.5 million toward a $25 million goal. Distribution of scholarship funds will begin with the class incoming in fall of 2017 (the class of 2021). Said Dean Ayden Adler of the scholarship initiative, “We are excited to be building a new way forward at the DePauw School of Music, encouraging our students to think differently and use their talents innovatively, while also transforming the industry at large through our 21CM curriculum. These scholarships will allow us to invest even more in the future, and help cultivate a new generation of musician-leaders.”
