California’s San Luis Obispo Symphony has named CATHERINE LANSDOWNE executive director, beginning April 3, 2017. She replaces Interim General Manager Francie Levy. For the past three years, Lansdowne has been executive director of the Abilene Phlharmonic in Texas, overseeing a restructuring, new programming, and fiscal growth. She held marketing and public relations positions at the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and has worked in marketing for the National Philharmonic in Washington, D.C. and the American Association of Malaysia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in oboe performance from the Eastman School of Music and a master’s degree in arts administration from Indiana University.
