AMY MARSHALL, an arts administrator with experience across a range of performance disciplines, has been named director of development for California’s Santa Barbara Symphony, effective April 14. Marshall earned a bachelor’s degree in theater arts at Marquette University in Milwaukee before beginning her career at the Florentine Opera Company as production assistant, and later as production director. She served in several positions at the Milwaukee Ballet, beginning as company manager and becoming operations director and then executive director. In 2007 she was appointed managing director of the Olney Theatre Center in Olney, Maryland, a position she held for seven years. Marshall most recently served as director of development at Austin Opera, where she managed fundraising efforts.
