John Adams’s Chamber Symphony and Son of Chamber Symphony performed by Alarm Will Sound have been released on the Cantaloupe label. Boston Modern Orchestra Project has released two new recordings: Anthony Paul De Ritis: Pop Concerto and Stephen Hartke: The Ascent of the Equestrian in a Balloon, on its in-house BMOP/sound label. The Boston Symphony Orchestra has released Brahms’s Symphony Nos. 1-4 on its BSO Classics label, recorded live last fall at Symphony Hall led by Music Director Andris Nelsons. The Boston Pops has released Lights, Camera…Music! Six Decades of John Williams featuring live recordings from 1968 to 2015 at Symphony Hall, ranging from E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial to Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Witches of Eastwick. The Cleveland Orchestra has released a five-DVD set of Bruckner’s Symphony Nos. 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9, led by Music Director Franz Welser-Möst and recorded at Severance Hall, Vienna’s Musikverein, and the Abbey of St. Florian in Linz, Austria. Rounder Records has released Bela Fleck’s Juno Concerto for Banjo and Orchestra featuring the Colorado Symphony, with the composer as soloist, conducted by Jose Luiz Gomez; the album includes two works for banjo and string quartet featuring the Brooklyn Rider quartet. Fleck’s Juno Concerto was co-commissioned by the Canton, Colorado, South Carolina, and Louisville orchestras. International Contemporary Ensemble has released three albums on its in-house recording label TUNDRA: George Lewis: The Will to Adorn, Aesopica: Music of Marcos Balter, and ism, a solo album of music by ICE member and saxophonist Ryan Muncy.

Sony Classical has released a 40-CD box set featuring clarinetist Richard Stoltzman in symphonic, chamber, and crossover music. The Los Angeles-based Vitamin String Quartet has released Vitamin String Quartet Performs Kanye West, featuring arrangements of “New Slaves, “Flashing Lights,” and “Stronger,” among others.
