The Illinois Symphony Orchestra has appointed KEN LAM as music director, effective July 1, 2017. Based in Springfield and Bloomington, Illinois, the orchestra begins its 25th anniversary this year. Lam will make his first appearance as music director at the start of the orchestra’s 2017-2018 season on Friday, October 27, 2017 in Bloomington and Saturday, October 28, 2017 in Springfield. Lam is music director of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra in South Carolina and resident conductor of the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina. He is also artistic director of Hong Kong Voices.
