JESUS MANUEL BERARD has been named music director of the Prince George’s Philharmonic, located in Prince George’s County, Maryland. Berard holds degrees from Columbia University and the New England Conservatory of Music. He was, most recently, music director of the D.C. Youth Orchestra Program. Prior to that, he was founder and artistic director of the Peconic Bay Orchestra in the Hamptons of New York; and music director of the Chamber Players at Connecticut College and the Connecticut College Orchestra (New London, CT), the American University Symphony Orchestra (Washington, D.C.), the Columbia University Symphony Chamber Orchestra (NYC), and the Hofstra University Symphony Orchestra (NY). The Prince George’s Philharmonic is a community orchestra that is heading into its 52nd season.
