Symphony Tacoma, based in Washington State, has extended the contract of Music Director SARAH IOANNIDES through the 2023-season. Ioannides was appointed the orchestra’s music director in 2014. Formerly assistant conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Ioannides held appointments as music director of the El Paso Symphony and Spartanburg Philharmonic, guest music director of the Dessoff Choirs, and music director of Oxford University. She continues to guest-conduct internationally and throughout the U.S., and coaches orchestras at such organizations as Yale University, Curtis Institute, and Chicago College of Performing Arts.
