The Park Avenue Chamber Symphony will perform three 2017-18 programs at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, the orchestra’s performance venue in New York City. Each concert will feature the InsideOut format piloted by the orchestra in the 2016-17 season, with audience members seated among the musicians and regularly rotating to sit with a different section of the instruments. In October, Music Director David Bernard will open the season with Saint-Saëns’s Danse Macabre and Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique. A February program will feature Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloe Suite No. 2 and Brahms’s Symphony No. 2, and in May the orchestra will perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 (“The Titan”). In addition, in the afternoon prior to each full event, the orchestra will offer a special, shortened family version of the program designed for younger audience members.
