The Detroit Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of JILL ELDER as vice president and chief development officer, effective on August 29. Elder most recently served as vice president at the American Cancer Society North Central Region, where she oversaw a staff of 44 and was responsible for developing and executing regional and national strategy in corporate account management, events, and major gifts. She began her nearly 20-year career with American Cancer Society as a field representative handling community-based fundraising, advocacy, and mission delivery efforts. Elder is a graduate of Leadership Detroit and Michigan State University.
