The Nashville Symphony has named ENRICO LOPEZ-YAÑEZ to a one-year appointment as assistant conductor, commencing in September. Lopez-Yañez was appointed assistant conductor of the Omaha Symphony in June, and he will step down from that position. During his Nashville tenure, he will conduct three of the Omaha Symphony’s subscription concerts as well as some community engagement programs. At the Nashville Symphony, he conducted two community concerts this summer as well as a Fourth of July event. Lopez-Yañez received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the University of California Los Angeles, where he studied trumpet with Jens Lindemann, and he earned a master’s of music in orchestral conducting at the University of Maryland.
