California’s Santa Rosa Symphony will perform a free concert on July 30 with the band Mariachi Sol de México de José Hernández at Sonoma State University’s Weill Hall and Lawn at the Green Music Center. Hernández is the fifth generation of a family of mariachi musicians from La Sierra del Tigre region of Jalisco. Principal Pops Conductor Michael Berkowitz will lead the combined musical forces in the concert, billed as a thank-you to the community by the orchestra, marking its 90th year during the 2017-18 season. Admission to the concert is free, but tickets must be reserved in advance for seating inside Weill Hall, outside at terrace tables, or open seating on the lawn.
