Credo Music, based in Oberlin, Ohio, has appointed HENRY PEYREBRUNE as its first executive director. He joins Founder and Artistic Director Peter Slowik to lead the organization. Peyrebrune has been a bassist in the Cleveland Orchestra since 1997, a position he will retain. From 2014 to 2017, he also worked on the Cleveland Orchestra’s philanthropy and advancement team, where he was responsible for major gifts from individual donors. Prior to joining the Cleveland Orchestra, he was principal bass of Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra, and a freelance musician in Boston and New England. He served on the faculty of the Baldwin-Wallace University Conservatory for eighteen years. He has been president of NoteWorthy Federal Credit Union for ten years, and sits on the board of the League of American Orchestras. Peyrebrune holds a bachelor of music degree from New England Conservatory. Credo Music is a faith-based music-education organization. Its primary program, Credo Summer Music Festival, presented annually since 2002, consists of three weeks of intensive musical training for 75-100 students, ages 13 to 23, focused on chamber music performance and community service.
