On August 26, the Salisbury Symphony will present “A ‘Bury Home Companion,” a live-radio program that the orchestra says will “spotlight the gentle side of life in “The ‘Bury,” Salisbury, North Carolina. A fundraiser for the orchestra, the presentation takes its theme from Garrison Keillor’s long-running radio program “A Prairie Home Companion.” The show was developed and scripted by Salisbury resident Kent Bernhardt, and will feature local performers including the ‘Bury Home Companion Radio Players and Singers in music ranging from bluegrass to opera. James Dane Harvey is executive director of the Salisbury Symphony, and David Hagy is music director.
