Florida’s Venice Symphony has appointed violinist MARCUS RATZENBOECK Marcus Ratzenboeck concertmaster, effective with the 2017-18 season. Ratzenboeck, based in Sarasota, previously was principal second violin of the Louisville Orchestra, and was adjunct professor of violin at the University of Louisville. While in Louisville, he was also a member of the Louisville String Quartet and concertmaster of the Louisville Bach Society. He has also served as concertmaster of the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, South Carolina, and performed with the Florida Orchestra, Sarasota Orchestra, and St. Petersburg Opera. He has his own recording studio, H&M Productions and holds a master of music degree from Indiana University, where he was concertmaster of the Indiana University Symphony and the Columbus (Indiana) Philharmonic.
