Ohio’s Akron Symphony Orchestra has appointed TALLIE BRUNFELT concertmaster, beginning with the orchestra’s season-opening concert on September 23. She succeeds Alan Bodman, who retired at the end of the 2015-16 season after 30 years at the orchestra, including 22 years as concertmaster. A native of Minnesota, Brunfelt has served as concertmaster in recent national show tours including Fiddler on the Roof and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and performed on film soundtracks including A Dog’s Purpose, Keeping Up with the Joneses, and Collateral Beauty. She has presented interactive music appreciation concerts to young and adult audiences and maintains a private teaching studio in New York City.
