Friday, October 27 is the third World Series championship game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Houston Astros. Houston’s River Oaks Chamber Orchestra and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra have responded with a friendly #ROCOvLACO rivalry. On October 25, LACO posted a video of LACO principal horn player Michael Thornton playing “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” at their Facebook page. Later the same day ROCO responded by posting video of their own rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” ROCO’s Facebook page notes that if ROCO’s video gets more shares than LACO’s video, LACO has promised to not only wear Astros hats at their next concert, but also to change their Facebook cover photo to “We ❤ the Houston Astros.” If Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra’s video gets more shares than ROCO’s, ROCO musicians promise to wear Dodgers hats at their next Community Concert.
