The Cleveland Institute of Music has appointed DAN COLEMAN as director of development. He was most recently a major gifts officer and head of planned giving at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and spoke about planned giving at the League of American Orchestras’ 2017 Conference in Detroit. Coleman was previously grants manager at the Cleveland Orchestra, and general manager of the Ashland (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra, where he directed operations, fundraising, budgeting, community engagement, and educational programming. He holds a master of music in orchestral performance (trumpet) from Indiana University and a bachelor of music in performance from Ohio’s Capital University. He is a former member of the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony Group I, a training ensemble of the Cleveland Institute of Music.
