Florida’s Jacksonville Symphony has appointed ROGER WIGHT vice president and general manager. Wight will work with President and CEO Robert Massey and Music Director Courtney Lewis in overseeing the production of concerts and programming, and with the marketing and development teams to engage sponsors and promote concerts. Wight began his career in classical music radio as an announcer for Cleveland’s WCLV while studying at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He continued as a radio host and producer at the Interlochen Center for the Arts before becoming a classical music recording and show producer at National Public Radio in Washington, D.C.  In 2007, Wight joined the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra as director of artistic planning, and then moved to the Philadelphia Orchestra as artistic administrator. Between his time with the Philadelphia Orchestra and joining the Jacksonville Symphony, Wight was an arts management consultant with organizations including the Miami Music Festival and the Toledo Symphony Orchestra.
