The Philly Pops is in the midst of a ten-performance run of its annual “A Philly Pops Christmas” at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center, featuring the full orchestra, three choirs, Macy’s organist Peter Richard Conte, and vocalist Justin Hopkins. From December 2 to 19, Pops Music Director Michael Krajewski is conducting the family program of holiday selections such as “Joy to the World,” “The Grinch Medley,” and “Sleigh Ride.” The event also includes an audience sing-along, pre-performance lobby entertainment, strolling carolers, and Santa and Mrs. Claus. On December 1, the Pops also hosted 2,000 members of the military, police, and fire departments and their families at a private concert, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas: A Salute to the Military and First Responders.”
