Kentucky’s Owensboro Symphony Orchestra has organized events before and after its “Shakespeare in Love” program on January 13. Just prior to the concert at Owensboro’s RiverPark Center, Music Director Troy Quinn will give a talk about the program, which will include Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture, the Wedding March from Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, “One Hand, One Heart” from Bernstein’s West Side Story, music by Nino Rota from the 1968 movie Romeo and Juliet, and selections from Stephen Warbeck’s score to Shakespeare in Love (1998). After the concert, Lacy Jean—a longtime Owensboro Symphony violinist who also sings and plays mandolin and guitar—will perform folk, bluegrass, and jazz with the Lacy Jean Trio at nearby CYO Brewing.
