Musicians, conductors, board members, administrators, volunteers, and business partners of orchestras of all sizes will gather to network with colleagues, develop skills, and be inspired at the League of American Orchestras’ 2018 National Conference. It’s the only national conference dedicated to orchestras and their partners, and the primary forum for emerging practices and innovation. Music Director Riccardo Muti will lead the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and cellist Yo-Yo Ma, the CSO’s creative consultant, will speak and receive the League’s Gold Baton Award.

Plus:

• Anthony McGill (principal clarinet, New York Philharmonic) and Demarre McGill (principal flute, Seattle Symphony) will perform a double concerto with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras, conducted by Music Director Allen Tinkham.

• Presentation and performance by Chicago Sinfonietta’s Project Inclusion Fellows and alumni.

• Join Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Carlos Kalmar, Chorus Director Christopher Bell, and the Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus for opening night of the Grant Park Music Festival’s 2018 season in Millennium Park.

It all happens at the Palmer House—A Hilton Hotel. Don’t miss content-rich Pre-Conference seminars on Wednesday, June 13. The League will announce when registration is open so you don’t miss the early-bird discount.
