Touchdown: Boston-Philadelphia Super Bowl orchestra challenge

Boston Symphony Orchestra Music Director Andris Nelsons and Philadelphia Orchestra Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin have challenged each other to a bet before each city’s home team faces off in Sunday’s Super Bowl game. If the New England Patriots win, Nézet-Séguin will wear a Patriots jersey to the next Philadelphia Orchestra rehearsal; if the Philadelphia Eagles win, Nelsons will sport an Eagles shirt at the next Boston Symphony rehearsal. In a video posted on the BSO’s Facebook page, Nelsons challenged Nézet-Séguin, saying, “There’s been some great fan feuding between the Boston Symphony musicians and their colleagues at the Philadelphia Orchestra.” The Philadelphia Orchestra responded on its Facebook page: “Yo, Boston Symphony Orchestra… it’s on.”
