HOLLIS WELSH has been appointed executive director of the Boise Philharmonic Association, effective April 2, 2018. Welsh comes to the orchestra from Boise Contemporary Theater, where she has been serving as interim executive director after previously serving as the theater’s patron communications director. Welsh, a native of Boise, holds a bachelor’s degree in theater and creative writing from the University of Washington and also pursued master’s level studies at Boise State University in technical communications. “We are pleased that we have found such an outstanding and experienced leader for the orchestra right here in Boise,” said Philharmonic board co-chairs Jeanie Smith and Jack Gjording.  “In addition to her experience at Boise Contemporary Theater, she has had a very successful career in development, public relations and marketing which will serve us well.” Said Music Director Eric Garcia, “I’m delighted to welcome Hollis to the Boise Philharmonic family, and look forward to working in partnership with her as we continue to build an exciting and dynamic Boise Phil for our audiences.”
