Chicago’s Grant Park Music Festival has announced two staff appointments: CHRIS COLLINS as general manager and EMILY CANHAM as chief development officer.

Chris Collins joined the festival on January 2 and is responsible for the planning and execution of all festival productions. Most recently, he was executive director of the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas. Earlier, he served as general manager of the Eugene Symphony, where he was responsible for artistic operations. As a violinist, Collins has performed with orchestras in Arkansas, Colorado, Oregon, Texas, and Wyoming. He holds a bachelor of music degree in violin performance from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, and a master of business administration and master of arts administration from Southern Methodist University in Texas.

As chief development officer, Emily Canham’s first day will be March 19. She was previously director of institutional giving at Chicago Children’s Museum. Prior to that, Canham was manager of foundation and government relations at the Ravinia Festival. She previously held positions as associate director of development at the Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies and as manager of corporate, foundation, and government relations at Columbia College. She holds a master of arts management from Columbia College and a bachelor of arts in journalism from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
