The Ordway Center in St. Paul, Minnesota will be the site for a day of free creative activities for families on April 14 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Family Arts Blast is presented by the Arts Partnership: Ordway, the Schubert Club, Minnesota Opera, and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. Attendees can also try their hand at costume and sound design, learn dances, and try out musical instruments. The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra will present “Xpressive Xplorchestra,” with actor T. Mychael Rambo telling a story accompanied by a woodwind quintet of SPCO musicians performing music by of African American composer William Grant Still. The Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies will present Bernstein’s On the Town as part of an event that includes a scavenger hunt. Other events will include a theatrical performance of Goodnight Moon and Mexican folk music performed by Andale Juana.
