Music Director Peter Bay will conduct the orchestra in music by this year’s eight winners: Harrison Collins’ Ecstatic Noise; Ayden Machajewski’s Nexus; Tanner Walterman’s Insidious; David Schuler’s Unchartered Seas; Catherine Hoelscher’s Memories of a Summer Evening; Ethan Dintzner’s Concerto in D-flat; Julian Falco’s Prism Skyline; and Amy Gravell’s In This Moment. Composers receive prizes ranging from $500 to $3,000. The competition is open to students who submit full, original orchestral compositions of five to seven minutes in length.
