The Riverside Symphony in New York City will debut Anthony Korf’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra (“Three Violins”) on June 6 at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, led by Music Director George Rothman. Soloist for the 25-minute work will be Jesse Mills, founding member of the Horszowski Trio and Duo Prism, a violin-piano duo with Rieko Aizawa. Also on the program will be Sibelius’s Symphony No. 3 and Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 (“Unfinished”). Riverside Symphony was co-founded in 1981 by George Rothman and Anthony Korf, and performs programs mixing classics with pieces by living composers at its annual Lincoln Center concert series at Alice Tully Hall.
