The Virginia Symphony Orchestra, based in Hampton Roads, Virginia, has appointed EMILY BARNHILL as senior director of development. Barnhill has served as director of development for the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) since 2014. Prior to her time at MOCA, she worked at the Virginia Symphony’s development department for four years, with increasing levels of responsibility. In addition, Barnhill has held fundraising positions at the YWCA South Hampton Roads, American Red Cross of Southeastern Virginia, and the United Way of South Hampton Roads.
