DIANE WITTRY has extended her contract as music director and conductor of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra for three years. Wittry is currently in her 23rd season at the helm of the Pennsylvania-based ensemble. Her recent work with the Allentown Symphony includes expanding performances to additional venues in the Lehigh Valley region, among them the Levitt Pavilion in Bethlehem last season and the State Theatre in Easton in spring 2019. Next season will also feature a chamber music series sponsored by the NB Center for American Automotive History. Wittry was recently appointed music director of the Garden State Philharmonic in Toms River, New Jersey. She is active as a guest conductor and conducting teacher at U.S. and international orchestras and music festivals. Wittry’s compositions have been performed by several ensembles, with upcoming performances at orchestras in Arizona, Texas, and Florida.
