This summer, Alabama’s Huntsville Symphony Orchestra is offering two educational “Music Explorers Club” classes at the main branch of the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library. The classes are free for children and families. The first class took place on July 2, and a second is set for July 18 at 1:30 p.m. HSO musicians lead the classes, which begin with a short warm-up where children have the opportunity to make some music of their own while learning about beat and rhythm. Then, an HSO musician leads a segment about their instrument and their time in the symphony. Music Explorer Passports are given out at the end of each class. The program is ongoing, and continues in the fall, winter, and spring at libraries and other area locations.
