On Saturday, July 7, Interlochen Public Radio will broadcast live the gala opening of the Great Lakes Center for the Arts in Bay Harbor, Michigan. The $25 million building includes a 500-seat theater as well as indoor and outdoor community gathering spaces, and will offer a year-round line-up of music, dance, theater, movies, film, discussion, and educational activities. “Raise the Curtain,” the opening event, will feature the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Interlochen Festival Choir, Broadway performer Rachel Gold, Miami City Ballet dancer Simone Messmer, and young violinist Yesong Sophie Lee.
