The Carmel Symphony Orchestra in Indiana has appointed KIMBERLY DIMOND as executive director, effective on July 16. She succeeds president and CEO Alan Davis, who is retiring after nearly two decades. Diamond most recently served as managing director of the Midland Symphony Orchestra in Midland, Michigan since 2006. At the Midland Symphony, Dimond acted as a representative to community, state, and national organizations; led the search for a music director; implemented fundraising events; helped curate innovative performances; and focused on education and community outreach activities. Prior to that, she was corporate relations manager for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and interim director of music events for Central Michigan University. She is a graduate of Central Michigan University with a bachelor of applied arts degree in integrative public relations and music (French horn) and holds a master’s degree in arts administration from Goucher College. She is a graduate of the League of American Orchestras’ Essentials of Orchestra Management program.
