Looking to build your leadership skills and abilities as an orchestra professional? Check out the League of American Orchestras’ Emerging Leaders Program (ELP). This ten-month professional-development seminar, which cultivates effective and adaptive leaders in all parts of an orchestral organization, is now accepting applications from new or recent executive directors, orchestra musicians, current and aspiring music directors, department heads, and other members of an orchestra’s staff. The program provides one-on-one coaching, mentoring by top leaders in the field, in-depth seminars led by leadership experts, visits with leaders and institutions outside the orchestra field, and the opportunity to present a capstone project at the League’s National Conference. Twelve individuals will be selected for the 2018-19 season through a competitive application process. The Emerging Leaders Program seminar begins in September, so apply now: the application deadline is August 10, 2018. Click here to learn more.
