The Philadelphia Orchestra is inviting intermediate and advanced string players to participate in its second annual “PlayIN” at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, New York, on August 10 at 12:45 p.m. Cellists, violinists, violists and bass players from the region may register online to participate in the free onstage music-making session with Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Assistant Conductor Kensho Watanabe, and the orchestra. PDFs of sheet music by Grieg, Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Holst will be sent in advance to participants. Click here to register; slots are limited, and there will be a waiting list. For more information, see spac.org or call 518-584-9330. Last year, Yo-Yo Ma participated in a Saratoga Performing Arts Center “PlayIN” for community cellists.
