The Houston Symphony is seeking two musicians for its full-time, salaried Community-Embedded Musicians program to work in Houston schools, neighborhoods, and healthcare settings as teaching artists and performers, while performing select concerts with the Houston Symphony. These positions are open to violinists, violists, and cellists of all backgrounds who demonstrate a passion and aptitude for education and community engagement work. The application deadline is September 4, 2018. A hybrid of teaching artist and orchestral musicians, the community-embedded musician position is designed to serve as a bridge between the Houston Symphony and the diverse Houston community. These positions are full-time, not term-limited, and salaried with comprehensive benefits and paid time-off.
