BRADLEY HUNTER WELCH has been appointed resident organist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. This position focuses on the symphony’s Lay Family Concert Organ, leads tours on the instrument, and performs with the Dallas Symphony. Welch won first place at the 2003 Dallas International Organ Competition, where he was also awarded the audience prize. He has appeared as a soloist with the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, and Dallas Symphony, and has taught at Southern Methodist University and Baylor University in Texas. He serves as artist-in-residence at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas and was director of music and arts at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas from 2009 to 2014. A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, Welch holds doctor of musical arts, master of musical arts, and master of music degrees as well as an artist diploma from Yale University. He earned a bachelor of music degree at Baylor University.
