The Women’s Philharmonic Advocacy is currently accepting 2018 WPA Performance Grant applications from U.S.-based orchestras and ensembles. This funding, available to professional, community, and student orchestras, can be used to support performances of works by historic and contemporary women composers. WPA defines “orchestra” as an ensemble of ten or more performers featuring, among other instruments, bowed string instruments of the violin family. Grants range in amounts from $500 to $1,000 (total available funding is $15,000), and funds can be used for performances in 2019 or 2020. The deadline to apply is October 26; applicants will be notified of their status by November 30. Find out more about the Performance Grants here.
