KATY COY has been appointed executive director of the Valley Symphony Orchestra in McAllen, Texas, effective Oct. 1. Coy previously served as executive director of the Association of Arts Administration Educators, an international member association for professors of arts administration. She oversaw a period of significant growth for the organization, resulting in increased membership, fundraising, and event attendance. Coy has also held communications and fundraising positions with the Columbus (Ohio) Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and the University of Chicago’s Performance Program. She holds an undergraduate degree in arts administration from Western Michigan University and a master’s degree in Arts Leadership from DePaul University. Peter Dabrowski is music director of the Valley Symphony Orchestra.
